Hemorrhoids come in three different types, though most of the treatments to heal them work for them all.  There are Internal hemorrhoids, prolapsed hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids.  Internal involve the veins in your rectum, prolapsed can stretch down and bulge outside your anus while external are just that, involving veins outside the anus.  They can be caused by increased pressure in the anal area.  This can be caused by constipation or diarrhea.
