While it is true that the beaches in Santa Barbara are a huge draw, the community also offers its visitors a rich history and a number of historic landmarks to look over.  One of these, the Santa Barbara Lighthouse draws thousands of visitors each year.  Though the original lighthouse perished during an earthquake, the modern lighthouse was built in its place and retains the originals rustic styling.
