The benefits of Christian baptism are numerous. John first performed it and Jesus commanded it. The Great Commission in Matthew is proof of that. It is basically part of the sacrificial, cleansing, and substitutive death of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and not under the Mosaic version that John performs.
