Gay men and lesbians are raised in a society that, for the most part, provides a restricted and negative view of their sexuality. This can lead to feelings of shame or guilt and even cause a gay person to start thinking there is something wrong with them or they have a sex addiction if they find themselves enjoying sex but still feeling bad about it. Counselling, therapy or other supportive treatment assists gay men and lesbians to overcome abuse, feel better and start enjoying sex.
