Gonorrhea is diagnosed through various laboratory tests. The normal procedure is to first have regular medical investigations or examinations. For carrying out the laboratory test, the medical laboratory expert takes a sample of those portions of the patient's body that are vulnerable to the bacterium -- Neisseria gonorrhoeae. These are throat, rectum, urethra and cervix. The sample is then sent for analysis to the laboratory.
