They’ve had the successful singing career complete with platinum selling albums,Pouts, Platforms and a Piece of Pop History Articles they’ve done a film, completed a comeback tour and now it’s time for the musical. Did we mention the T.Shirts?

Yes, the Spice Girls are back in our lives with the new musical, Viva Forever. It opens in the West End this November and is completely based on their popular songs thus providing plenty of singing opportunity for the audience. Written by Jennifer Saunders and produced by Judy Cramer who made Mamma Mia the global smash hit, it’s certainly got a good team behind it.

Who knows whether it has longevity, but their musical backlist is certainly catchy and, let’s face it most of the fans who attended their reunion tour are now in their thirties and can afford a night out with their friends. If we look at the success of ‘Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music’ and aforementioned Mamma Mia, it’s likely they have a winning combination. You can see it now - group bookings for hen do’s queuing up in their favourite spice girl attire. The union dress might even make a come back.

If serious fans wanted to get their hands on an original piece of Spice Girl couture for the opening shows, they are in luck. In an attempt to not only publicise the launch of Viva Forever, but also raise money for Save the Children and Children in Need, the girls (it feels wrong to call them ladies) are auctioning off some of their memorable outfits.  According to The Telegraph, it was Victoria Beckham’s idea, although perhaps her outfits will be considered the blandest of them all. After all, hasn’t everyone got a LBD in their wardrobe? But perhaps we are forgetting the PVC numbers or the blazer and bra look that she flaunted so well.

Guesses are that the highest bids will be for the ensembles worn by Gerri Halliwell such as the matching red hotpants and bra combination. The buffalo boots are sure to make an appearance, but pose no challenge to the mens sandals on our high street today. Although the iconic Union Jack dress already has a home at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas, perhaps one of Mel C’s leopard skin catsuits will add a touch of cinnamon to a fan’s wardrobe and provide a great outfit for the opening night of Viva Forever.
