This exam is further diversified into other entrance exams like IRAS (Indian Railways Accounts Service), IRTS (Indian Railway Traffic Service), IRSEE (Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers), IRSS (Indian Railway Store Service), RPF (Railway Police force) Sub- inspectors, constables, IRSE (Indian Railway Service of Engineers).To appear in these examinations should be a degree qualified candidate with science stream in 10+2. Besides applicants must have the good physique and health for some special entrance exams like RPF.

The announcement for these posts are announced once or twice in a years. Eligible candidates can apply for the posts using various means of applying like online form filling and by post etc. Since the Railway system is handled by the central government therefore it is a perfect way for settled and secure career. Indian railway authorities conduct two kinds of entrance exams one at intermediate level and another at the degree or graduation level. It allows entrance to the 10+2 pass outs as well as graduates and Post Graduates. IRTS, RPF, IRSEE, ISRE and railway apprentice are some of the common entrance exams. One can apply for them as per criteria and eligibilities.
