Once you get the braces installed,Guest Posting tooth care becomes all the more essential.  Unfortunately, after getting braces taking good care of your jaws and teeth becomes more difficult.  There are many small spaces in the braces where the food gets stuck and the stuck food, when not cleaned on time, causes plaque.  Plaque can cause further dental problems.  However difficult, you will need to put extra efforts in cleaning your teeth once you wear the braces to ensure that further dental and oral issues do not arise. You may need to brush more than twice in a day after wearing braces.  In fact, you will need to brush after every meal including the snacks, followed by mouthwash rinse.  You will also need to floss your teeth at least once every day.  All of this may seem to be too difficult to follow but you will need to take proper care of your teeth and braces after orthodontics.

Brush your teeth properly:  The first and the most important step towards dental care, especially if you are wearing the braces, is properly brushing your teeth.  Many people are in the habit of rushing through the brushing ritual and get it done in 30-45 seconds.  In such a little time you will only be able to clean your teeth superficially.  For the effective cleaning, you must brush for two minutes at least, more so when you are wearing the braces.  Brushing for two minutes or more and on all sides of the teeth will ensure effective cleaning.  While you are wearing the braces, you need to clean the wires and go under the wires as well.  You will need to ensure that no food remains stuck to your braces.  But make sure you don’t brush too hard for too long.  Brushing hard and very long can affect the protective layer of the teeth called enamel.   Brush after every meal including the snack meal.

Floss regularly:
You need to floss regularly too.  Although you don’t need to floss twice or thrice in a day, and doing it once in a day will be enough, you need to make sure you do it every day.  Flossing removes food particles that get trapped between your teeth.  Floss under the wires of the braces too as it is very likely for the food to get stuck there.

Use the wire brush: Your dentist will recommend you the brace care kit.  After brushing, clean your braces with the brush.  You can look into the mirror and clean the braces of any trapped food particle.  Even if you are not brushing, if something gets stuck in the braces, you can still clean the braces using the wire brush.
