Rhythm and Blues music has always been among the most romantic music in the world. Here's my list of the top ten best R&B love songs of all time.1. "Love TKO" -- Teddy PendergrassWith the recent passing of Teddy Pendergrass his music has been popping up in the strangest places. The other day I heard "Love TKO" in the grocery store and nearly started dancing with the produce boy. That's why this is the greatest R&B song in history.2. "Slow Hand" -- The Pointer SistersThe Pointer Sister version of this song may not have been as popular as the Conway Twitty version the next year,Guest Posting but it is far superior.3. "Sweet Love" -- Anita BakerBest R&B song at the 1987 Grammys and for great reason. Though this song is not in fashion these days, this performance is one of the most memorable in R&B in the last thirty years.4. "Let's Stay Together" -- Al GreenWhat list of the greatest R&B songs would be complete without something by the Reverend Green? This could be THE stereotypical rhythm and blues song, and is only not number one because it seemed predictable.5. "Crazy Love" -- Brian McKnight"I can hear her heartbeat for a thousand miles / and the heavens open up every time she smiles. / And when I come home to her that's where I belong / Yet I'm running to her like a river's song."6. "Ain't No Sunshine" -- Bill WithersThis hit from 1971 was the first in a short string of hits for Withers that includes the classic "Lean On Me". I find this song much more soulful and engaging than that classic oldies track, but either one could have found its way to this list.7. "Oh Girl" -- The Chi LitesThe Chi Lites wrote 11 top ten R&B singles in the 70s including this pitch perfect ode to every beautiful girl in the world. 8. "Oooh Baby Baby" -- Smokey Robinson & the MiraclesSmokey Robinson's voice makes it onto this list twice, this time for an R&B song that defines the genre for many people. You'll always remember the first time you heard this song.9. "Will You Still Love Me Tommorrow" -- The ShirellesAnother sad Rhythm and Blues song, the Shirelles bust into the list at number 9 with this track about an insecure lover. Just listen to that drumbeat . . . classic R&B.10. "Just My Imagination" -- The TemptationsA genre-busting tune that no one in the world can avoid nodding their head to -- it is a little bit sad but the vocal performance of the Temptations at their finest is enough to wash away all the despair.11. "More..."If you enjoyed this list then you probably would like to check these links out.100 Love Songs chosen by popular demand.100 Love Songs best suited for your first dates.
