For a graphic designer,Top 2015 Trends in Graphic Designing Articles the trends of the industry come and go. And yet, there are some graphic designer trends that make an appearance once in a century but influence the designing years to come. 2015 is said to be one such year. A graphic designer in New York and other major cities would do well to get properly acquainted with these trends to come –

• Here Come The Webgraphics – Recently, infographics have become popular because graphic designers have realized that people respond better to visual cues. Bright colors, nice typography, and brilliant styles work better when information is easily visualized. It also improves retention. Webgraphics work with the same logic because there is visual interaction with the viewers and improved retention rate. In modern web design, a graphic designer would need to be innovative with webgraphics because they are here to stay.

• Bigger Images Thanks To Better Bandwidth – Bandwidths are improving all over the world and the best thing it has done for graphic designers is to allow bigger and better images in their designs. In 2015 and the years to come, images would be big. Large images would be in the background of most websites. Thanks to tools like color filter, blur, and similar overlays, the text would simply sit on top or “float” without being a hassle. In order to minimize server load, various new ‘bigger image’ related techniques (like image optimization, dominant background colors, and responsive image resizing) are sure to hit the web.

• Flat Is The New Dimension In Designing – Flat designs started in early 2013 and by 2014, they were still popular. However, in 2015, they are going to be everywhere. There was a time when web designers looked down upon flat designs but it was a trend like minimalism – sure to become a classic hit sooner or later. In UI, there is still a lot of development needed in flat designs but already, Apple, Google and Microsoft – the big three – have adopted it. The great thing about flat designs is that they give a clutter free look to a website. It looks cleaner, the edges are sharper and the lines stand out. There are practical uses of it as well but when it comes to graphic designing, style is the biggest factor and flat is definitely the new black for graphic designers.

• Flexible Typography – The focus on typography started back in 2006 and admittedly, the web designing world has been a bit narrow minded when it comes to typesets and lettering. Not anymore, though. The focus of the modern graphic designer is to bring typography on websites back to basics – line height, column width, and type size. Larger texts are here to stay because research suggests that when the text is bigger, reading is obviously easier. Given the trend of responsive designs, bigger typography would be even more useful in the time to come.

• Micro-interactions, Parallax Animation, And Novel Scrolling Will Have the Last Word – Parallax is the best thing that has come out of graphic designing in recent times. It has become so popular that Apple and various other big brands have used this animation on their websites. The engagement rate on sites using this amazing effect is 70%. When the navigation technique relies on scrolling, page loading stops being a problem and, as a graphic designer, it is easy to create smooth and lively transitions. More and more websites would use parallax scrolling in the year to come.

A graphic designer must keep the above trends in mind because the world of designing is changing, and there has never been a better time to jump in on the trend bandwagon.
