Royal Sovereign makes first-rate laminators that are great for a variety of projects. One of their pouch laminators is the ES-910. We recently tried out this machine so we could fill you in on its strengths and weaknesses. Check them out:

Strengths and features:

  • The ES-910 has a feed opening that's just over 9" wide so you'll be able to laminate both small and letter-sized documents without any problems. You could also laminate legal-sized items if you need to. Photographs can also be processed by this machine since it has a cold lamination setting.
  • This device is compatible with 3 and 5 mil pouches,Guest Posting and you can use both thermal and pressure-sensitive ones. This will give you some choices when deciding which type of pouch is right for your document.
  • The ES-910 can fully warm up in 5 minutes so you don't have to wait long before laminating your materials. Once the machine is warmed up, it can laminate a letter-sized document in less than a minute. And if you forget to turn off the device when you're done, it will automatically shut off after one hour of non-use.
  • If anything ever gets stuck in this laminator, you don't need to worry. It's equipped with a manual reverse mode that will allow you to remove the item without damaging the machine.
  • Using the ES-910 is really easy. The temperature settings are controlled by buttons on the top of the machine. They're clearly marked so you can enjoy error-free lamination.
  • The ES-910 has two rollers so everything you laminate will look great. The rollers help distribute heat evenly and they also smooth out wrinkles and bubbles so your documents will look like they've been professionally laminated.
  • This laminator is pretty compact with approximate dimensions of 5" (height) x 15" (width) x 7" (depth). It will fit just about anywhere which is really convenient.
  • Finally, the ES-910 has a 1-year warranty.

Weaknesses and limitations:

  • The ES-910 won't work with 7 and 10 mil pouches so your documents might not have as much protection as you'd like them to. Also, you can't use mounting boards with this device, which is pretty typical of most pouch laminators.
  • Since the feed opening is about 9" wide, you won't be able to laminate really large items.
  • Although this machine has an automatic shut-off feature you should make an effort to turn off the device when you're done. This will help prevent the motor from burning out.

Overall, the Royal Sovereign ES-910 is a good pouch laminator and is worth considering if you need such a device. Although it won't work with thicker laminating pouches and mounting boards, it's a great choice if you need to laminate various documents for everyday use. This machine is easy to use, it has two rollers to smooth everything out, and it's compact so it's great for smaller work areas. Also, the device has a good warranty so you're covered if you run into any problems. Consider getting the ES-910 if it sounds like the right laminator for you.
