It is also the first Nokia phone to feature 12 mega pixel digital camera, which features the industry leading combination of Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash.

 

Undoubtedly the highlight of the Nokia N8 is the stunning 12 mega pixel digital camera.  It is Nokia as highest specification camera unit and includes some great features such as the high quality Carl Zeiss optics, from the renowned manufacturer of high quality camera lenses.  This combines with a powerful Xenon flash resulting in superb quality images.  The pixel resolution of the camera is 4000x 3000, so it can imagine the resulting images are of superb quality and detail.  It is also the first Nokia Smartphone to feature the ability to shoot 720p high definition video footage.  In order to enjoy the high definition footage in all its glory, a TV-out is included on the handset which allows users to connect their phone to their high definition television for using an HDMI cable.

The handset itself measures 113.5x 59.1x 12.9 mm, and weighs in at a pocket friendly 135 g.  The casing is manufactured from scratch-resistant aluminium and is available in five funky and attractive colour variants, dark grey, silver white, green, blue and orange.  So as well as providing a high specification Smartphone, the Nokia N8 is also a great choice for style conscious users, who are seeking a head turning fashion statement in mobile phone form.

 

The new Symbian 3 operating system provides users with three infinitely customizable homescreens which operate on a rolling access thanks to its accelerometer sensor meaning users don’t have to manually scroll through them.  This operating system also features multitasking, which by holding down the home button displays all applications which you currently in operation.

 

A great range of smart features are included as standard such as a free Ovi Maps application, which functions very well as a standalone SatNav unit, as well as some impressive music player which features cover flow display and the user friendly UI.  Plenty of files can be stored thanks to 16 GB of standard internal storage; however expandable storage is available in the form of a microSD card slot.
