One of the latest releases from mobile phone giant Samsung is the impressive S8500 Wave.  This stylish touch screen handset boasts an extensive spec list and appealing design.  With advanced touch screen navigation of the Bada OS user interface and a stunning digital camera, this is an ideal handset for tech savvy users.

The Samsung Wave is an extremely slimline handset at just 10.9 mm and measures 118 millimetres in height and 56 mm in width.  It is also light weight at 118 g making it pocket friendly and comfortable handset to hold and use on the move.  The styling is tasteful with a charcoal grey finish with silver detailing on the buttons.

Depending on the model, either 2 GB or 8 GB of internal storage is provided as standard.  This can be expanded however by using the micro SD slot which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB.  The internal phonebook includes the ever popular Photocall function which allows users to assign a photo to a particular contact within the phonebook and this is then displayed on screen whenever that person is in touch.  And

 

As mentioned, the Samsung Wave boasts impressive built in digital camera.  Operating at five mega pixels within a pixel resolution of 2592x 1994 pixels, this provides stunning still images with high levels of clarity and detail.  In order to simplify the task of taking great snapshots a number of image enhancing features are included.  These include Autofocus, face & blink detection and LED flash so quality photos can still be taking in low lighting conditions.  Users can also shoot video using the camera and this is in 720p quality at a rate of 30 frames per second resulting in stunning high definition video footage.

 

Access to the Internet is provided via an HSDPA connection at speeds up to 7.2 mega bytes per second (alongside HSUPA at 2 MB per second) in areas covered by 3G.  In commercial and domestic locations, which have a local wireless Internet router, Wi-Fi Technology offers a faster Internet connection by utilising the signals from the router resulting in a faster connection and therefore an enhanced web browsing experience.

 

The Samsung S8500 Wave offers a great alternative from the norm for those who are seeking an impressive touch screen handset.  Its appealing specifications and aesthetically pleasing design means it offers appeal to both tech savvy users as well as the style conscious who view their phone as fashion statement.
