Your stock intake will suck in warmer air and not enough of it, making your performance sluggish. The enhanced intake is also easy to install, and gives you more miles per gallon. Just remember that if you accelerate fast you will most likely make up for what you gained in miles per gallon because faster accelerating burns more fuel. You can get these intakes for under $100 dollars as well.

Another easy cheap way to increase your engine power and slightly increase your miles per gallon at the same time is to install exhaust headers. They make it easier for the engine to drive excess exhaust gas out of the cylinders and at the same time purge the manifolds back pressure. Therefore, each cylinder has its own exhaust pipe. You can swap out your stock chip for an enhanced chip and this can increase your engines power. You can also benefit from re-usable environmentally sound air filters. These cost between 40 and 60 dollars and increase acceleration and power by filtering the air better.

There are many different ways to increase your engine power, the ones I have highlighted are the easiest, cheapest, and help your gas mileage. If you are simply installing these for the fuel economy, you may want to research the parts to make sure they don’t make the engine too much louder, some people don’t like that, especially coming out of a minivan.
