The progress level of a student depends on how effective a teaching method a teacher uses, students are pretty much like doors that need certain keys to be opened. Sadly, some teachers believe that they have a fool proof teaching method that will guarantee that students under their tutelage will learn. The teaching method did not only teach Daniel Karate but more importantly has taught him discipline as well.

The progress level of a student depends on how effective a teaching method a teacher uses, students are pretty much like doors that need certain keys to be opened. Sadly, some teachers believe that they have a fool proof teaching method that will guarantee that students under their tutelage will learn. In the advent of the Internet a computer-based education system was developed. Elearning is a newly developed technology enhanced education system. Students need not to go schools and attend classes; students can simply log online and learn through their personal computers through this modern method. Students can learn from a simulated course or an online instructor facilitates the sessions in the virtual classrooms.

This system showed positive results, students taking online courses performed better than those students learning in the traditional schools. However this modern teaching system is not a perfect method it still has its limitations and disadvantages.

Technical Requirement
Its main requirement is to have a fast internet connection. Students who have slow internet connection or older PC will have difficulty in participating in the virtual classroom.

Students’ Characteristic and Skill
The efficiency of this technology-enhanced learning also depends on the students who are taking it. Students who have low motivation or have bad study habit will more likely be left behind since there are no teachers that will personal motivate these types of students to study harder. Students who also have basic or beginner level computer level skills will have a hard time in managing computer files and software. Since online students only study in front of their computers and no personal interaction is available, students may feel isolated from his/her instructor and virtual classmates.

Limited Instructor assistance
Online instructors are not always available when students are studying. There is great chance that students will have difficulty in studying their lesson and there is no instructor that will help them cope with the hurdles.

Some lessons can’t be taught
Hands on and lab work are very hard to teach in a computer based learning. Students will not be able to learn moral values and have the support they acquire from their professors and teachers in the traditional classroom.

Technology has brought us many benefits and has made our lives easier but it is not 100 percent foolproof. The system may have revolutionized the educational system but does not mean it is not susceptible to flaws. The important thing is that we learn from these mistakes and keep on moving forward. Elearning is a new education platform that holds many potential just been waiting to be maximized.
