The famous group X Ambassadors together with fellows from the world of music kicked off a huge bomb of powerful energy on Musikfest 2016. Bethlehem, PA, August 5 - August 14, 2016 – the 33d annual music festival successfully took place in middle of August in USA. A long-waited concert with the fest’s headliners X Ambassadors, Rachel Platten, Jukebox the Ghost and others exceeded all possible expectations.
This really was the best event of this summer! Millions of viewers and fans came to spend good time enjoying concerts, fairs, entertainments, food and drinks. Being traditionally held since 1984 Musikfest attracts more and more people. Probably the reason for this is it’s the largest non-gated free music festival, or because the lineup contains best of the best musicians, or just the whole atmosphere is unbelievably unique that each visitor finds exactly what he desires.
The concert-show started at night of August 5 at Sands Steel Stage. No need to conceal that it was not a sold-out, but yet there was a crowd of about 4 000 people. It seemed as if you were on 3 perfect concerts at one time and with one and the same ticket. The concert opened by a distinctive pop trio Jukebox the Ghost, followed by inspiring Rachel Platten and finished by passionate X Ambassadors fired the viewers with infectious and boundless power of music.
It goes without saying that X Ambassadors topped the line up with a 65 minutes show (12 songs). All started when the leader of the band Sam Harris lead his brother Casey, blind from birth, to a synthesizer. And right from the first jamming chords the magic began. Sam’s emotionally rich voice brought the audience to their feet and they were singing in unison and clapping for great performance. It was a pleasure to listen to soulful saxophone during “Nervous”, “Gorgeous” containing craziness, electric rock and soulful lyrics, melodic and encouraging “Renegades”, touching “Unsteady” and impressive “Unconsolable” and many more songs which need to be viewed live. Besides Sam Harris played a pretty soulful saxophone, acoustic guitar for creating the feeling of old-times rock’n’roll. During an interview after the concert X Ambassadors told: “It’s a crazy, crazy time time in this country right now. It’s crazy time in the world. There’s a lot to fight for and we have to be united. We have to be brave, we’ve got to stand together”. Precious words. X Ambassadors is a powerhouse of voice calling to humanity and not to lose hope. Never.
Musikfest 2016 was so incredible to watch and so generous for those who came there. Obviously, this event is organized on the highest level from year to year. And three acts from talented musicians on Friday night gave a great beginning to Musikfest 2016.
