An English poet, Robert Browning, wrote this about April "Oh, to be in England Now that April's there, And whoever wakes in England Sees, some morning, unaware, That the lowest boughs and the brush-wood sheaf Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf, While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough In England—now!" Many other great poets have written poems about April. April is also known for its warm showers, which help the plants to grow in the spring, and that is the reason for the saying, "April showers bring May flowers."
