Stop into Soulman’s Bar-B-Que and you’ll be in hog-heaven! Since 1974, we have been serving the folks of North Texas with home-made BBQ and succulent sides.
We know Texan’s are picky about their barbeque, we were raised that way!, so we have made sure to stay true to the family recipes that have made us a household name. Our barbecue meats include beef, chicken, ham, turkey, pork, sausage, ribs, and hot links. Each cooked low and slow over hickory wood, the way our families always make it. Choose from regular, lean, or extra flavor, and we will hand cut it to the best of your liking right in front of you!
In order to have a well rounded, truly Texan Bar-Be-Que meal, it was very important to us that we had ample side game. And oh, do we! Most importantly, we believe in big portions. That’s why our sides are generously self serve. Take as little or as much as you want, we want you to satisfy your appetite and create your own Soulman’s plate that is as personal as you. Our classic macaroni and cheese is soft and creamy, just like it should be. With multiple cheeses and a crispy crust, this bubbling side dish offers layers of flavor.
We’re a big fan of meat and potatoes here, so we made sure to have multiple potato side options! Cool and tangy, we have loaded up our potato salad with all the fixin’s for a backyard BBQ feel. Mashed potatoes and peppery white gravy are a given here, there is no way we could forget those vital scoops! French fries satisfies that crispy crunch you need, and our spicy potatoes are sliced like homefries with an extra kick that is truly Texan. We love spice here, so we perfected the recipe for y’all. In Van and Terrell, you lucky folks can also choose from au gratin potatoes! Goes great with ribs, we must say. If you want to turn the magnificent potato into a meal, we recommend our Big Time Taters. We take a crispy-skinned baked potato, load it with the fixin’s and generously top it with your choice of meat. It’s a full meal in every bite!
Other sides we have include hearty veggies such as green beans, spicy cream corn, and cole slaw. Crunchy fried okra is a favorite around here, and you know we have beans! Whether it’s pinto beans or heart ranch house beans, we know you’ll create a plate that screams Soulman’s.
