Removing crayon from your carpet can be tricky. You have most likely gone mad,How Can Removal of Crayon Stains Be Successful During Carpet Cleaning Articles because you thought you must hire professional cleaners to take care of the said stains, but no.

Utilizing any of these tips is to first spot test them in an area that is hidden before using on an area that others can see. Below is a list of five different ways for you to try when crayon makes its way off the paper and onto your carpet.

  • Get some blunt cutlery (a butter knife or a spoon will do a great job) and scrape as much of the crayons as possible off the carpet. Then use a vacuum cleaner to remove any loose particles there might be.
  • Crayons aren't completely dry, which means that you can get some more of them off the carpet by blotting the stain with a clean white towel or cloth. When no more crayon transfers from the carpet to the cloth, move on to the next step.
  • Mix some detergent with warm water, making a solution for the next step. Make sure the detergent doesn't contain any bleach, because otherwise it will damage your carpet.
  • Apply the solution from the previous step on the stained area and let it work for several minutes. After that, begin blotting the stains with a clean white towel or cloth. This might take some time, so don't worry if you don't see the effects right away. Just take your time, be patient and continue blotting until the stains disappear.
  • Remove any leftover residue with a vacuum cleaner and your carpet should be as good as if it was just treated by professional cleaners.

There are a lot of people that swear by the use of either isopropyl rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or baking soda water to remove any color stains left behind. These should be done on a small inconspicuous area first before a larger area of carpet in case of any discoloration. You are supposed to let the stain soak for thirty minutes before trying to blot up with a paper towel. Make sure to rinse the area with clean water and blot up any excess moisture before allowing the area air dry completely.

There are also a variety of on the shelf carpet cleaners available at many of your local stores. There may even be a knowledgeable clerk to help you decide which one would be best. No matter what method you use to try and remove crayon from your carpet, do not under any circumstances, pour dangerous chemicals such as gasoline or lighter fluid on the stain.

Now you don't have to worry when your children decide to draw with crayons near the carpet.
