You Need to Know About the Progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)

Progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)   The Central Government of India has approved the construction of over 1 Lakh affordable housing units under its ambitious initiative Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) with an investment of Rs 4,200 crore.   In the new sanction, the construction of most houses in Madhya Pradesh has been sanctioned, which is 57131 and Tamil Nadu is followed by 24576.   This will create the maximum housing in Madhya Pradesh, whose number is 2.66 lakh and if it is discussed about cost, then Rs 18283 crores will be spent. Tamil Nadu is in second place having 2.52 lakh affordable housing units approved and talk about cost in it, it will cost 9112 crores.   According to a government release, Manipur got 6,231 affordable housing units sanctioned followed by Chattisgarh with 4,898, Gujarat with 4,261, Assam with 2,389, Kerala with 643, Jharkhand with 331 and Daman & Diu with 77 homes.   In addition to this, recently the housing and urban poverty alleviation (HUPA) ministry has approved construction of about 88,000 affordable housing units for Bihar, 24,000 affordable housing units for Tamil Nadu, 5,000 houses for Chattisgarh with an investment of about 200 crores and 4,000 houses for Haryana.   With this, the housing and urban poverty alleviation (HUPA) ministry has now approved construction of 18.75 lakh houses for economically weaker sections (EWS) in 2,151 cities and towns in 34 states and union territories (UTs), with a total investment of Rs 1,00,466 crore since 2015.    Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)   Indian Prime Minister launched this flagship ‘Housing for All by 2022' mission on June 25, 2015 at Balliya Uttar Pradesh and is focusing on 15 states and union territories (UTs) to meet the Housing for All target by 2019.   The states under focus are Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, along with the UTs of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim and Tripura, Daman & Diu and Puducherry.   Also, the other states have been asked to submit proposals by 2018 so that the construction work could be completed by the year 2022. The central government had also asked states and UTs to conduct fresh demand survey for affordable housing, and the process is close to completion.

    New Guidelines Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)   The new government guidelines have been given in the interest rate subsidy scheme for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (urban). Instructions for which the middle-income group will get the benefits of home loan to buy the house.   PM Modi had also announced that those who earn 12 lakh will be given 4% subsidy on the home loan up to 9 lakh. And, those who earn up to 18 lakhs will get three percent subsidy on home loans up to 12 lakhs.   Under this scheme, all beneficiaries will be benefited from 1 lakh to 2.35 lakh, and this scheme will be implemented for one year only.   And recently, the Union minister Venkaiah Naidu informed that 9 lakh people from Haryana have applied online for houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
