Most med school and cosmetic surgery programs will accept the top tier students from undergraduate programs. So, you will need to keep good grades on record.

Where you go to school will also play a role in whether or not you will have a successful career as a plastic surgeon. Find and apply to colleges and universities that have a reputation for sending students to the best cosmetic surgery programs. If you study at one of these places, you will more likely get placed in a high-level program after college. The better the program you receive your degrees from, the more likely you are to have a successful and high-paying career.

Schooling isn’t the only thing you have to worry about, though. One thing you have to be willing to work on is your bedside manner. This is the term used to describe the way a doctor relates with his or her patients. Do you genuinely like people? Do you believe in what you do? Do you feel that cosmetic procedures can help people? Answer these questions honestly. In order to be a good doctor, you have to be willing to meet new people and listen to their desires everyday.

What kind of work ethic do you have? Surgeons can lead a very busy work life. Depending on the type of practice he or she joins after graduation, a good specialist can work long weeks as they continue to build their career.
