Managing stress also means taking care of one's self. Ultimately those who exercise regularly, eat right, and get plenty of rest and down time can usually handle what is thrown at them and they can better manage their stress over individuals who  are eating a lot of sugar and sleep deprived. While these people may feel that they are functioning okay they are very likely under a greater amount of physical duress and as they begin to add emotional stress they will very likely give into the pressure and fold.

Meditation is something that's very helpful in taking care of stress but a walk or a regular exercise routine can be just as effective. Individuals that are wanting to manage their stress and their lives need to understand that while meditation is very effective it's not the only way to cope with stress and that there are many things an individual can do to help them keep it together under pressure.
