One of my favorite ways to customize my shoes is to have my friends sign them and put the year on them, then when they wear out I can save them as a keepsake to look back on.

As a free spirit,About Customing and Personalizing Your Clothes Articles I love personalizing and customizing my clothes. As such, I have experimented a lot with what works well and what doesn't; including bleach patterns on my jeans, cutting t-shirts in creative ways, writing on shoes, etc - to me, it all gives more personality to my clothing.

To begin with, all I really did was writing on my jeans and have people sign them, etc. Then I took it to a higher level and began to bleach designs on my jeans - through this, I discovered the bleach pens work extremely well, because if you're trying to create a specific design, you don't want the bleach running all over the place. On the other hand, if you're going for abstract, liquid bleach is perfect. Cutting t-shirts and writing on shoes, particularly Converse or another such canvas shoe ("fish heads", to avid wearers of the shoes), is another great way to further personalize an ensemble. Cutting a large t-shirt up the sides and tying it back together is extremely cute & very popular among high schoolers, or even 'slashing' three slits on the front across the chest - although people tend to frown upon that, since it can be revealing. One of my favorite ways to customize my shoes is to have my friends sign them and put the year on them, then when they wear out I can save them as a keepsake to look back on.

I continue to come up with creative ways of personalizing, and I'm sure you will come up with your own ways.
