Martin Garage Doors’ color palette has no limitations.

If a customer wants a specific color,Martin’s Color Palette Is Infinite Articles they can get it.

“We’re so far ahead of the competition on this that we blow them out of the water,” Michael Martin, vice president of advertising, said of Martin’s color options.

Officially, Martin showcases 81 powder coat options in its brochures, but the options hardly end there.  Any color is available.  A number of the powder coat options are metallic and give texture to the paint job.

It’s as simple as a customer bringing a paint chip or sample to the table, and Martin finding a match.  Martin’s buyers are expert enough in finding the odd color that they already have a proven track record of doing just that.

For example, last year military officials in Guam wanted a very specific color of brown----known as Charlie Brown---for specific garage doors on a base there.  Martin sourced the unique color and shipped some very unique garage doors to the installation.

In just the past few months, Martin representatives have sourced two other new color options for local dealers.  One color was taken from a painted piece of particle board, the other from a paint stick with a hard-to-match color.  Becky Davidson, a purchasing specialist for Martin, has sourced enough colors that she has a method to make it work.

“First I look to see if anyone has it as a stock color. If I don't find anything standard, I send a sample chip to our powder company and they match it,” Davidson said.  She in cases when customers bring a color name and number from another paint or window or siding company, it takes a bit more research to match.

But she does find a match.

There is an up charge for specialty colors.
