The fee amendment will not affect civil cases or lawsuits. The Office will not accept cash or personal checks but does accept money order, US bank issued checks and credit card payments.
Mail requests are also accepted. Simply indicate the case number and other information in the request form, as well as payment for the request being made. The report is free however; reports that exceed 10 pages will be charged at $.20 each from the first page onwards. Also, include a duplicate copy of current/valid identification like driver’s license or any government-issued id. For those who want to obtain their own personal criminal records, fee is $30. All payments should be paid through credit card or money order.
For those who want access to arrest records, they can also go to Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. The Records division is open during weekdays for walk-ins. The office also accepts mail requests. For those requesting the record, they should also include a copy of their valid id. Requests can be sent either through courier or standard mail. Processing for requests can take up to 10 business days. To ensure that the file that one wants to access is not restricted, consider calling the records division first.
Another way to obtain a copy of arrest records is to check online public search portals that offer basic free criminal records.
