Everyone at sometime in their life has been sitting on the couch and thought ,Two Questions to Ask Yourself Before Selling a Product Online Articles ‘I have a great Idea, I should sell it , I bet I would make millions.’ Or we have all had that idea, then bushed it off, only to find the exact same idea marketed and profitable. Because someone took the time and risk to act on the idea.

There are two questions you can ask yourself when you have these self proclaimed genius moments, and know right away whether they actually have a chance of success or not. The first question is: Where can I get it? And The second is : How much does it cost?

You may be wondering just how two simple questions like these can make or break shear genius, well let’s review.

Where can I get it? If your spectacular idea is selling hairbrushes online, the ask this question and you will find that it is easily answered. You can get a hairbrush pretty much anywhere, including most gas stations in the travel supplies. So the odds of selling hairbrushes successfully online are already in the slim to none category.

Now ask yourself the second question, How much does it cost? There is another easily answered question, they tend to run anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars. So will selling hair brushes online make a good online business? After answering those two questions I would strongly discourage the selling of any hair brush online. Most people will not buy and wait for the arrival of a brush online, when they good hop in their car, drive to and buy, and return home with a perfectly good brush within minutes.

Now lets look at it from the other side of the coin. What if your idea was custom made doll houses. Where can I get it? I honestly do not know where you could buy a custom made doll house, specifically made to your specifications. How much does it cost? I could google it an give you a rough estimate of how much something like it may cost, but I would not have any idea in what price range it would run. By the answers from the two questions, I would custom made dollhouses would have a good chance of succeeding online. It is a unique, specially made product not found in your local convenient stores.

With these two questions you will be able to weed out the light bulb moment ideas from the built to fail ideas. You will save yourself heartache and money by not wasting time on some ideas, and urging yourself forward on the money makers.
