A motivational speaker can change the environment with his or her speech. Here are some things to think about.

A motivational speaker can turn the tide. He or she can literally change the energy in the environment to one that is positive and uplifted. He or she can also lead people to do specific things. Words are powerful and the right ones at the right time create change. Think of great speakers over time and remember how events were shaped by their speeches. John F. Kennedy,Motivational Speaker: What Can They Do? Articles Wayne Dyer, Iyanla Vanzant, Martin Luther King, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Abraham Lincoln, and even Adolf Hitler were/are all effective speech givers who swayed masses of people with their messages. Here are some things to think about:

Charisma:
Every great public speaker has something called charisma. There are various definitions of this including charm, dazzle and even a divine gift or talent for making people listen.

Power:
There is a great deal of power in being an effective speech presenter. People can be persuaded to follow what the individual said and what they learned from him or her.

Confidence:
The person who is motivating others must be confident in himself or herself. Confidence will be felt by the audience members, as well.

Strength:
The person must believe in themselves and their own message must be strong. This strength is perceived by the audience.

Uplifting:
Listening to a motivational speaker, someone with a strong, confident powerful message can be uplifting. The audience members may feel their moods elevate and may believe every word of this person’s message.

Eloquent:
Stumbling over words isn’t effective. Speaking clearly and with eloquence will add to the motivational impact.

Improve attitudes:
Good attitudes are catchy. If an employer wants to improve employee morale, a motivating talk can do the trick.

Religious:
Some pastors are effective in this. They move their congregations to repent, donate money and become baptized and volunteer to paint the Sunday School rooms.

Political:
Politicians are adept at swaying voters with their speeches. They’d better be or they won’t get elected. Public speaking isn’t always a demonstration of the best person for the job but it sure gets candidates elected.

Self help gurus:
Many self help gurus are authors and have messages they want to deliver in order to sell books and help people. If they are effective behind the microphone, their books will indeed sell and people will learn the self help techniques.

Bad guys:
Yes, even bad guys and mass murderers obtain power with their persuasive oral tactics. Adolf Hitler, Charles Manson and Jim Jones all had charisma, strength, confidence and power.

A motivational speaker can get the job done. He or she can make audience members buy things, convert to a new religion, vote a certain way, change personal problematic behavior, do bad things or celebrate events such as graduations. Their job is to motivate people and they do it well. If a school graduation, office function, workshop or special event is happening, a keynote address specialist can be hired through a speakers’ bureau or agency for a fee.
