For centuries,Myth or Prophecies Associated with the Blood Moon Articles the moon has been associated with many prophecies and has created a certain level of fear in hearts of people who strictly observe lunar events and keep a check on the prophecies. One would reckon that these stories of the future are just myths and have created an unnecessary fear in hearts of people. However it is yet to be proved.

Blood moon and other lunar activities occurring with an increased frequency are considered to be a sign of the end of times as per Christian traditions. Two particular phrases from their holy books are worth mentioning here.

"And I will show wonders in the heavens, and in the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke.  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Jehovah."  Joel 2:30 -31. Also "The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious Day of the Lord." Acts- 2:20. Christians seem to believe that the much awaited apocalypse is  related to the blood moon;, along with the above mentioned prophecies, there is an another religiously significant text which is also highlighted in the biblical book Revelations chapter 6 verses 11 – 13, "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood". One can only wait and watch in order to figure out if these prophecies are true and whether the time that Christian preachers have calculated for the worlds destruction is correct or not.

Christians are not the only ones who have prophecies associated with blood moon. The Jews also have a prophecy which makes the lunar event significant form them. As quoted from the Jewish book of tradition, Talmud:  "When the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel. If its face is as red as blood, (it is a sign that) the sword is coming to the world." Similar occurring has been seen in the past by the Jews and holds high importance for the Zionists; the year 1492 became the year when Jews were expelled from Spain. In 1948, the Zionists entity was formed and their struggle for statehood began and 1967 brought the Zionist invasion of Jerusalem. They are allegedly waiting for the ethnic cleansing and to finish their conflict with Muslims of the region.

However the Jews believe that the later two events in 1948 and 1967, which the Zionists glorify as victories are as lethal and destructive as their expulsion from Spain in 1492. For Jews blood moon always brings war, death and financial crises. So they believe the blood moon coming this year might as well bring them war and pain, this may be speculated to be from their Muslim rivals of the region, Iran, which purposefully delegated liberation for the people of Palestine.

Whatever has been told to us through religious scriptures and prophecies cannot be applied to any circumstances or lunar occurrences as they have not identified a specific time or  date for the event. All we can do is wait and watch whether these prophecies are true or not.
