The temple of Sai Baba in Injambakkam was constructed in March 1993 by Guruji C.B. Satpathy. Sai Baba, in his days, used to burn the holy fire, also known as Dhuni. He believed that the Dhuni has the power to heal all the ailments of people. The same Dhuni burns in the temple uninterruptedly, and the ash is distributed among the devotees as the blessings of Sai Baba.

 

There are other sub-temples where various Gods and Goddesses are placed. These are Shiva and Parvati, Durga, Hanuman, Ram, Sita and Lakshman, Venkateswara, Navagrahas, Krishna and Radha, and Muruga companions Valli and Devyani.

 

There is a tree in the temple, and as per the belief, anyone who ties a turmeric dipped string with his wish gets granted by the same. People on Thursdays and Fridays visit the temple; they take the string and tie it to the tree.

 

To facilitate the devotion, there is a Meditation Hall where people meditate and gain mental peace for some time. There is a free Health Care Center, too, where disciples get help with their ailments. There are shops for Puja items from where they can buy Puja items and books like Sai paraphernalia.

 

To satisfy the hunger, there is a canteen as well. People can also make phone calls, and transportation facilities make it easy for people to transport to this place.

 

At every Sai event, various ceremonies happen. Devotees say, Artis, become a part of the special Pujas. They also arrange food for the poor and earn good karma.

 

One can visit the temple from 7 A.M to 1.30 P.M and 4 P.M to 8 P.M.

The Ganesha idol, known as Vallabha Ganapathy and adorned with ten arms, is one of the temple's main attractions. There are other shrines of Lords like Shiva, Dattatreya, Vishnu, Hanuman, Ram with Sita and Lakshman.

 

The prime Sai temple is made having a hexagonal structure. There are concrete ladders that lead to the top as the temple reaches a height of 100 feet. There are many other buildings to visit within the complex; the greenery all around produces cool air, and the seashore view makes it a magnificent visit for everyone.

 

This shrine of Sai Baba is known as Dwarakamayee, and it is similar to the one established in Shirdi. Other than the Kalpatharu tree, a wish-fulfilling tree, people also take circles of the Danvanthari tree. It is believed that those who have any ailments if they take nine rounds of this tree, they gradually become free of their diseases.
