The fact that Jesus did rise is the realization of all prophecy contained in the Old Testament and the New Testament Doctrine. The disciples were selected men, called of Jesus Christ to follow him and do HIS will.

Joesph of Arimathaea, being a close friend of Jesus, in secret, was kind enough to bury the body of HIS Lord, giving him due honor; but upon investigation after three days, the body of the Lord disappeared.

The doctrine of the resurrection is powerful in the souls of the believers. It works changes in the lives of individuals, transforming them with greater visions for life and service.

Let your mind think on April 9, A.D. and the place is Jerusalem now this is to my understanding. I will be sharing from the Gospel of According to St. John.

The Gospel of John was written at Ephesus after St. John's release from the Isle of Patmos, about A.D. 97. Apostle John whom Jesus loved, from his call till our Lord's Ascension, was never voluntarily absent from His Master's side: standing at the cross when all the rest were scattered.

Christ Appears to HIS Disciples (John 19:23)

The resurrection is a fact which Jesus Christ/Yeshua himself establishes here with his presence in the midst of those who, knowing of his death just three days previous, have been praying and mourning because of the extreme wickedness of those who were responsible for his crucifixion. Death had robbed them of their best friend; but the news reached them that the Master had spoken to Mary in the garden near the sepulchre. Mary Magdalene bore word to the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had conversed with her, giving her words which she bore to them.

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors where shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. (John 20:19 Sacred Seasons, The Sabbatical Seasons, The Lord's Day Observed From the First By The Christian Church).

While reviewing Luke 24:36 it shared on record the Appearances of Christ After HIS Resurrection, To the Ten and Thomas was Absent.

Then were the disciples glad, for the presence of the Lord brought joy to the seeker's soul. They rejoiced in the realization of their hope. They saw the Lord, him whom the Prophet Isaiah said was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquites, the chastisement of peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. (John 20:20 Appearances of Christ, After HIS Resurrection, To the Ten, Thomas was Absent).

Jesus had come to earth to perform a mission. Jesus came freely and willingly, HIS Mission is in accordance with the will of God. The Father has work to be done, a schedule by which it must be done, and he had sent HIS Son to do it.

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. (John 20:21 Apostles Instructions).

The Holy Ghost is a divine preparation whom God gives through HIS Son Jesus Christ, and HE is not only preparation for service, but HE is power.

And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: (John 20:22 Holy Spirit Given).

The Apostles were to go forth and enter upon their work with interest of himself. They had the power now, and the time for results is at hand.

Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. (John 20:23 Apostles Remit Sins).

Thomas was also called Didymus was not present at this time. He did not believe when they told him the Master had appeared and then said "Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. (John 20:26 Appearances of Christ, After HIS Resurrection, At Other Times, To The Eleven, Sacred Seasons, The Sabbatical Seasons, The Lord's Day, Observed From the First By The Christian Church).

Thomas loved Jesus and was pleased with the fulfillment of prophecy concerning the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus warns Thomas against faithlessness, and exhorts him to believe and accept the truth by faith rather than by sight.

Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. (John 20:27 Appearances of Christ After HIS Resurrection, At Other Times, To the Eleven).

Are there any doubters today? Are there any that are missing blessings of spiritual revelation, because they are expecting and desiring to see something visible, as a symbol of God's presence, before they accept HIM?

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God, (John 20:28 Christ's Divinty, HE IS Called God).

Jesus is not impatient with Thomas, nor is HIS wrath kindled against him: he is not pronouncing upon him any form of doom, but simply showing him that there is room for improvement.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. (John 20:29 FAITH, Is Of Different Degrees).

CHRIST'S MIRACLES & PURPOSES OF MIRACLES ON RECORD:

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: (John 20:30)

THE PROMISE, ADVANTAGES OF SCRIPTURE, SANCTIFYING, SAVING & PURPOSES OF MIRACLES ON RECORD:

The Promise: Everlasting Life and Heaven Promised.

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (John 20:31)

Thomas was skeptical and Peter was impulsive. They both had to be tested and tried before permanently. Simon Peter and his brother Andrew were fishermen, like James and John, the sons of Zebedee, and it was characteristic of Jesus to make approaches, by the way of natural endeavors.

When Jesus was being tried Peter tried to keep his promise and follow him, but the human part became weak and resulted in his denail, thrice upon accusation by the enemies.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than thee? He saith unto thim, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. (John 21:15 Apostle Peter And Final Charge to Him).

He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (John 21:16 Apostle Peter And Final Charge to HIM).

When Peter declared, with an attitude of grief, that he did love the Master and that his denial did not mean permanent separation, Jesus again told him to feed HIS sheep. The work of sharing, praying, praising, teaching, missions, preaching, witnessing the good news is important, and no man putting his hand to the plow should turn back (Luke 9:62).

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee, Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (John 21:17 Christ Possess the Attributes of God, IS Omniscient).
