Science and technology is perhaps the area of human endeavor that places the most emphasis on accuracy and precision. It is therefore not surprising that scientific and technical translations require exactly those attributes.

It is a common issue today that science and technical translation face issues in the translation industry. Today, as the field of science and technology rises, experts believe that the need of professional scientific and technical translators will be seeing even more significant demand. Although it is alarming that the translation industry is lacking of professional scientific and technical translators, language schools should always maintain their strict training of linguists who wants to achieve proper qualifications of becoming professional translators. Otherwise, if these linguists will not be trained properly for becoming a professional scientific-technical translator, it might be possible that they will not be an effective bridge of communication between countries that speaks different languages and understand different rules.

Sustaining the knowledge and establishing professionalism in linguists has always been the responsibility of language schools and university departments, and thus, if a language institution don’t give proper training and feed helpful knowledge to language students, it can only have negative results – they will not be effective translators in the field.
