No doubt, LED lights are the most popular type of lighting nowadays. Due to LED lights the common incandescent bulbs becomes very rare. Like all things of the universe LED lights have some advantages and it also have some disadvantages. In this article I’m going to discuss both those advantages and disadvantages of LED lights and I hope this article will help you to make the decision that whether LED lights are right for you or not. At first, let us take a look on the advantages of LED lights. Advantages of LED Lights: The biggest advantage of LED lights is that they are excellent energy efficient. Unlike common incandescent bulbs that waste more than 75% of the electrical current by heating up the filament of metal, LED lights would not generate any kind of heat and due to this they consume very low energy to produce light. The second biggest advantage of LED lights is that they are 100% green, safe and clean. LED not contains mercury or any kind of hazardous materials. Mercury is a very dangerous substance and obviously no one wants to release it in home for their children. Furthermore, all the LED lights are green and friendly to the environment then there is not any problem to dispose of.

Most of the incandescent bulbs are pink in color and they will not offer so many colors. So, there is not too much you can have to change the color of the light when using incandescent bulbs. But when it comes to the LED lights, then you have lot of options of colors. So, if you like colorful lights then LED lights are the better option for you. Another advantage of LED lights is that they really look very cool. Unlike common incandescent bulbs you can use LED lights where you want for example, in Christmas trees, lawns, drawing rooms, living rooms etc. Disadvantages of LED Lights: The most prominent disadvantage of LED light is its cost. LED lights are very expensive as compare with the traditional incandescent bulbs. For a common lamp, an incandescent bulb will costs only few dollars, which will depend on the power and manufacturer of the bulb, while on the other hand a LED light bulb for the same lamp is cost abut 20$ to 55$. Usually the LED light bulbs are 8 to 20 times expensive than common bubs. So, this is very costly for families and business owners as well.

Other disadvantage of LED lights which is not very commonly known is that, they are very sensitive to heat. There high sensitivity to heat affects the performance and color of these lights. As we know that LED lights do not produce much heat themselves, but they are very well conductors of heat. This may decrease the output strength of the LED light and also shrink the life of LED lights. Thus, LED lights are not suitable for the places where lot of heat is produce like, factories of different products where lot of heat produce.
