The Gurshikhar Peak lies at a distance of 15 kilometers from the hill station of Mount Abu. The peak is about 5,676 feet high. From here, one can actually witness the entire view of Mount Abu. A famous tourist spot on the Gurshikhar peak is the temple of Dattatreya. Dattatreya was an incarnation of the Hindu God, Lord Vishnu. The temple of Dattatreya attracts many devout followers in this area. Apart from the Dattatreya temple, there are many other famous temples like the Mira temple, Chamudi temple etc. There is a small shrine nearby which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Just a few miles away from the temple is the Mount Abu Observatory. This observatory is at the height of 1680 meters above the ground. The Mount Abu observatory is one of the best sites for astronomical observations. The infrared telescope facility makes studying celestial objects even easier. To reach the top most point of the Gurshikhar peak, you will have to take a road which is locally known as the Delwara Achal Ghar Road. After walking for about 7 kilometers, you will reach the top most point of the peak.
