Are printed and branded USB Memory Sticks just a little "old hat" these days?

If you really want to stand out from the crowd then instead of just settling on a Branded USB Memory Stick with your logo engraved or printed onto it why not consider a bespoke memory stick - thats not a memory stick that just printed but one that manufactured to reflect the shape of your logo or products.

Until recently the costs of choosing a truly “custom” memory stick would have been prohibitive unless you were ordering in the thousands but not any more. Driven by the need to keep their production plants and factories busy many Memory Stick manufacturers are now happy to tool up to manufacture as few as 100 pieces. More importantly they are happy to do this and absorb the costs of the moulds and tooling.

This apparent generosity on the part of the manufacturers is unlikely to last so if you are looking for a truly unique USB Memory Stick then there has never been a better time to get things moving. Remember once the mould and tooling has been produced repeat orders typically bear no new “tooling” or rework costs. So you can order a 100 custom USB Disks now at a bargain price knowing that if you want to come back and place a larger order its just the memory sticks you are paying for and you “own” the design.

So now is a good time to get your thinking caps on because the only restriction is your imagination. Custom USB Memory Sticks are typically manufactured from PVC rubber or resin. This process means you can define the colours and the shape and remember it’s a 3-dimensional product with excellent tactile characteristics. Examples of custom USB Memory sticks include Tyres, Aeroplanes, Cars, Animals, Vegetables, Wine Bottles, Beer Bottles. Rugby balls, Cricket bats, Baseball bats, Cartoon Characters and lots more besides. 

In terms of promoting your brand, brand recognition and brand recall, a fully customised memory stick has real impact and if done well creates a real talking point. They’re a great idea for new product launches particularly if you pre-load the USB Memory Stick with sales brochures and support material 

There’s no impact of the range of memory options you can use either. A bespoke product can house any size of memory from 64Mb all they way though to a massive 32Gb. All of the same accessories i.e. key rings and lanyards can be used with your bespoke product you just need to make sure the design has the scope to attach one! 

If you want to go the whole hog then customised packaging, boxes, cartons or tins can compliment the job. 

Do remember the lead-time of customised memory sticks is a little longer because of the need to product prototypes and get your approvals. Just factor this into your project schedule and you’ll be fine.
