If you are fed up with the slumping sales in your restaurant then you need to get busy. If you have less money coming in then you will not be wanting to spend a lot on big ad campaigns. That is too expensive for an independent restaurant.

If you have total faith in the quality of your food and the attentiveness of your staff then maybe you need do do something different to get some attention. You can use promotional advertising as a start and then dream up some inexpensive fun ideas.

If your demographic that you are after includes the youngest set of the population then you can do some fun things that will appeal to them and to moms. One idea is having a small kids area that is set in a safe spot. Highly visible and close to moms table. You could even have the tables that ring the kids are reserved for families with small children. That way the moms could sit and chat while the kids play. It could be like a fast food play area only more upscale and smaller. The same idea. Keeping kids occupied and close by so moms can hand out in a nice place.

You need to have company t-shirts for sale at your place. If you have a cute restaurant  then you need to have some promotional products that are just as cute to offer people. If people like your place they will want to wear the shirt. You could have certain nights of the week that are for wearing promotional items. Give it a time limitation too so people come in early for this.

Your next step to get new business may be getting a new look. You don't need to go crazy or anything, just a few things to make it more fresh looking. Plants, herbs, and flowers will go a long way in making the outside of your business look very attractive. Go with native and water wise plants for the easiest and least expensive upkeep.

If you have all those ideas taken care of then it may be time to reach out to the community. Good deeds make for good publicity. You can open your space for neighborhood meetings. You could do toy and food drives around the holidays too. You could sponsor a neighborhood clean up day and organize people to go out and pick up trash, if they wore your shirts and hats then you would get some nice publicity too.
