There are many singles who engage in negative self-talk,Is the Lack of Confidence Keeping You Single? Articles allowing their minds to go through all the things that could go wrong even before going on a date. If you are one of those people, it's time to replace your fears with self-assured confidence that will win the heart of the person you like.
Here are 5 tips to help you to boost your confidence on any date:
1. Nobody's perfect
If you want your date to respond positively to you, you must also show a positive side of you. To achieve that, accept that nobody's perfect and your date probably has the same insecurities as you.
2. Never put your date on a pedestal as that will lower your self-esteem even more
If your date accepts you for who you are, then that is something to build upon, if not, tell yourself that there's always someone else who has shared beliefs and values with you and it's up to you to discover that person.
3. Do the things that make you feel good
If you think you don't have a talent or strength, then engage in certain activities that might help you discover that strength. It could be enrolling with the gym or taking up a course that can help improve a specific area of your life. Eventually, you'll find yourself drawing more confidence from the things you do and this confidence will grow on you everyday.
4. Stop beating yourself up
If you've had a string of failed relationships in the past, it doesn't mean you're lousy! Perhaps you weren't prepared and or it wasn't the right time for others to make a commitment to you. It's natural to feel sad when things don't work out, but your past does not equate your future! Take the lessons from the past, make a plan about the things you wish to improve you didn't do back then and take action to carry out that plan.
5. Take pride in your achievements
What are some of the things you think you've done well each day? Could be it sticking to your exercise routine or accomplishing an important project in your office? No matter how small your achievements are, take pride in them and celebrate by making a fist, pulling it towards yourself and saying a victorious "YES!"
