1. Only invite people you know because the list does not have to be long to make that day special. Only invite people who you have spoken to in the last two to three years. 2. The internet is for shopping so you may find that some sites have exclusive deals on certain items and you may be able to save a bundle on that eye catching wedding dress that is just perfect for your wedding. Instead of buying a wedding dress or suit, why not borrow one or rent one, instead?

3. The date can cost more if you want a summer wedding. It will cost more than a March wedding because there is high demand for these times and dates. Reception Halls will charge more on a Saturday night at 7pm so you may want to go for a Sunday morning or you could even go for a late night drink on a Friday night to save a few extra quid.

4. If you are having your wedding in a church, try to get one that is close to a major holiday period, as the church will more than likely be decorated due to the high number of customers. That, in turn, will then save you money on decorations.

If you are tech savvy, you could create your own wedding invitations and cards etc. on your computer and you can pick up a decent printer for around £40:00 at Curries or PC world and, that way, you get to chose the design and make it completely personal to you. Instead of having guests pay for the RVSP, instead have them send you a message on Facebook or even to your email inbox as this will save on both the invitations and the postage & packing.

6. Talk with other brides or other people who are getting married because they may have other money saving techniques or deals they’ve already come across and you may even be able to split the costs instead of being charged separately, as most receptions will recycle the decorations but still charge each person individually.
