Fads come and go with the seasons.  It can be hard to figure out what is going to stick and which ones are going the way of yesterday’s news.  It can be impossible to stay on top of the latest and greatest new designs.  Another problem seems to be even if it is hot style with staying power; it usually does not look good on everyone.  As a wardrobe consultant,The Latest Trends and You Articles I know not all the latest trends work for everyone.  I want to give you some tips that can keep your head above water in the ever-changing current of today’s fashion world.

I am sure you have looked in a magazine, saw a picture of one of this seasons’ latest trends and wanted to go out and buy the newest accessory or outfit.  I know I have.  I’ve also tried on this seasons’ new style and had it just not work for me.  When this happens to you, don’t feel bad.  Style is not a one-size-fits-all ticket.  Even as a wardrobe consultant, I do not look good in everything I try on.  This is not anyone’s fault.  I keep in mind that I have a natural beauty that I need to honor with the right clothing choices.  If you find out that the latest trends just don’t work for you, do not get disheartened.  There are great things out there that will fit you perfectly.

With all the new fashion options out there, how do you choose the one that is right for you?  The best way is to try it on and be honest with how you look and how you feel.  If you aren’t sure and do not have your own wardrobe consultant, bring a friend whose opinion you trust.  But before you break out your wallet, look yourself hard in the mirror and as yourself the following questions:

  • Does this outfit look right on me?  - Some things will look great on one person and will not work on another.  This is because everyone’s natural beauty is a little bit different.  It is up to you to explore what brings out your best.
  • Is this outfit really me? - Sometimes an outfit will look great on our bodies but it just won’t fit our personality.  Ask yourself if what you are trying on fits your image.
  • Will I wear this? - This is another important question.  Sometimes the latest trends look good, feel good, but you won’t have a place wear it.  Before you make your purchase, imagine yourself in the outfit.  Try to figure out where you would be and what you are doing while wearing it.
  • Could I wear this outfit 5 years from now? -  This may not be important to everyone, but most of us want a wardrobe that will pass the test of time.  Before you swipe your credit card, try to determine if it is just this seasons’ fad or if you can get good wear out of the outfit.

Seasons change and so do the latest trends.  Keeping an eye what’s hot can be a full time job.  As a wardrobe consultant, I want to tell you that you do not have to wear the newest fads to be in style.  There are classic pieces that never go out of vogue and always seem to fit with the latest trends.  If you want to have wardrobe with a long shelf-life, look for outfits that fit with your looks and have passed the test of time.  These are things that have appeared in fashion magazines year after year.  These are the outfits and accessories a wardrobe consultant would recommend you purchase.  With a little effort, you too can start to notice what latest trends last through the seasons.

Nest time you pick up a fashion magazine, think about this tried-and-true advice from a wardrobe consultant.  This seasons’ colors and styles may not look good on you and that is okay.  Your beauty will last longer than any of the latest trends.  If you want to explore some of the new fashions out there, pick outfits that will flatter you and have the longevity to last more than just a few seasons.  Any wardrobe consultant will tell you, keeping up with the latest and greatest is difficult, but with the right look, you will always be in style.
