Every watch is fabulous. Pocket watches manufacturers must seek the greatest possible accuracy and repeatability in performance

The original pocket watches had a curious disposition to avoid having to make rocker too long,The original pocket watches Articles so the first groups of 5 minutes to 5, the second split time in those five-minute intervals, and the latter was showing each of within 12 hours. The only "complication" mechanics is that you have to separate the last ball to enter the beam (in this case is because it never becomes aligned with the others) and you have to have a mechanical element (the real clock) to release the balls with proper cadence.

There are many pocket watches, which are very interesting, being made purely on Lego. Thus, this would be another example of this, but it is less "purist". You can find interesting links, some with other curious clocks. Look for links:

-         General Information web pages

-         Manuals and other curious clocks

-         Details of operation of the original

These mechanisms transform the rotary motion produced by a weight or spring, in a precise movement of rotation or oscillation, which is the one that governs the rest of the clock. Personally I would describe as the "generator of seconds," it is that I will mark the typical ticking clocks, which then gear down to 1 / 60 minutes will give us time and again by 1 / 60 will give us the hours (here explain it well). In the first Google search result is this page with a physical calculation of this mechanism, part of the UPM, if you are curious. There are thousands of pocket watches variants of the mechanism, each more curious, perhaps the simplest being the pendulum that appears in most sources.

The image gives us a perfect example of the basic functioning of these mechanisms. We see how the wheel turns and lets only the pendulum, and although no note, often the same wheel that gives the little push to the pendulum needs to overcome its friction and not stop.

As the period of oscillation of a pendulum is constant, and also controls the length of your arm, we have a simple mechanism, adjustable and accurate enough to begin the adventure of creating pocket watches.  Subsequently, many variations have developed the mechanism, based on springs, masses and inertia oscillating, rotating cylinders. Each model has a small needle, the minute hand indicates the minutes (large needle) and the seconds hand indicating the seconds.
