Tibi designer & founder Amy Smilovic ascribes to the strict motto of "casual chic" & this theme continually filters through her work. Smilovic founded Tibi in 1997 and uses her childhood interest in art and illustrations to inject a sense of vibrancy into her Tibi tunic designs.
Tibi’s unique prints have drawn in a strong fan base, making Tibi one of the World's bissest contemporary brands! Tibi began in the fashion industry after moving to Hong Kong in 1997. Following a successful marketing position in New York City, Amy then relocated to Asia with her husband & began designing a collection of contemporary Tibi tunics. The company has now expanded and is offering ten collections per year, a complete shoe line, swimwear, & home accessories!
Amy hand designs a range of styles and prints to match her personal taste and approach to fashion, which she showcases her Tibi tunics in the tents of Bryant Park each season during NYC’s Fashion Week.
In September 2006 they opened the first Tibi retail boutique in New York. It was designed by Steve Blatz & Antonio Saracino, and is located in SoHo, London. It has received architectural acclaim in many notable publications such as Interior Design Mag. Not surprising then that this was the first of many free standing stores in the comprehensive Tibi retail expansion scheme.
Tibi is one of the largest modern lines found in over five-hundred specialty and up market stores Worldwide, including Stanwells, Henri Bendel, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdales. Tibi has also opened showrooms in Los Angeles, Dallas, London, Milan and Canada.
