Auto Repair and the Importance of Regular Maintenance

The Oil

Getting a regular oil change is as important to avoiding major auto repair as remembering to put the gas in the right tank. Without oil, your engine will soon grind to a burning, melting halt. Coolant

Keep an eye on your coolant levels at all times. This coolant prevents your engine from overheating, a problem that can quickly lead to expensive auto repair. If your engine gets too hot, it may lead to damage beyond anything a mechanic can do to get it back on the road. Making sure your coolant levels are sufficient is very easy. All you have to do is eyeball your coolant reservoir and make sure you're between the appropriate lines. If not, adding a mixture of water and antifreeze is the best choice of solutions. You can add straight water in a pinch, but this can lead to quite a few problems if you leave it like that for long.

Lingering Issues

Don't let problems linger and fester. If you know something is wrong with your vehicle, take it in and get the auto repair you need before a small, inexpensive problem turns into something that will clear out your bank account. It can be intimidating to bring your car in to a mechanic, but the sooner you get a problem fixed, the less expensive it's going to be.
