Mobile phones have been used in cars for some time now, although recent legislation has started to govern exactly how we use them. Communications have been somewhat more difficult for motorcycle users.

Racing along on a motorbike,Bikers are talking more easily Articles open to the elements, with the roar of the engine beneath you. One of the joys of riding a bike is being able to get out on to the open road and to be able to feel the thrill of the air rushing by.

This romantic image of riding a bike assumes that you don't want to speak to anyone else as you move along. What if you do wish to communicate? Historically, this has been something of a problem.

Car drivers take it for granted that they can speak to their passengers. What could be more simple? It's even possible, using a hands free device, to make phone calls to people miles away. Things don't tend to be so simple for motorcycle owners.

Even talking to a passenger can be extremely difficult, thanks largely to the amount of noise and the positioning of the rider.

One popular solution is to make use of bluetooth technology. By fitting headsets, riders and passengers can talk far more easily. The development of these headsets has been such that they do an extremely got job of reducing background noise.

There's also another useful trick that they can be used for. Since bluetooth technology was invented specifically to allow wireless communications, this property can be put into use on a bike.

With a bluetooth enabled mobile phone and headset, the rider is able to make hands free telephone calls. Suddenly motorcycle owners are able to make use of technological developments to enable them to communicate just as easily as car owners do.

Need to talk to your passenger? No problem. Need to talk to a friend on the other side of the country? No problem.

Bluetooth motorcycle helmets have transformed the way that bikers communicate.
