If you have purchased a new Mercedes,Bought a New Mercedes? Tips To Keep It Looking Great Articles chances are you are a person who takes a great deal of pride in the car they drive. That is, after all, a very common trait among owners of these remarkable automobiles. Naturally, anyone who buys one wants to keep it looking like they just drove it off the lot for as long as possible. A dirty, scuffed Benz is nobody’s idea of a source of personal pride. In some circles, it could even be considered a disgrace—an affront to the fine manufacturing that goes into these cars. If you want to keep yours in mint condition, here are a few tips.

Protect The Paint

Few things can ruin a fantastic paint job as quickly as the sun’s rays. No matter where you live, if you leave your Mercedes out in the sun every day, some fading is going to take place. Certain color choices will minimize these effects (at least as far as what is readily visible), but you shouldn’t choose a color based on its fading properties. Go the extra mile and protect your paint job from the sun by getting it into the shade as often as you can. If you don’t have a garage, use a car cover whenever it’s going to be parked for an extended period of time.

Keep Things Tightly Fastened

If you are going to use your Mercedes to carry bicycles, luggage, and other freight on the roof, you need to be sure that they are fastened tightly before you set off. A bike’s handlebars scratching against the roof for an hour will do some quick damage to the clear coating and the paint underneath it. Make sure nothing is touching the actual car when you secure these things to the top. If you tighten everything well, it shouldn’t be a problem, even on long car trips.

Wash Your Mercedes Frequently

It’s easy to keep up with a regular car washing routine for a few months after your purchase. This is when your pride in the car is at an all time high. After that, however, it becomes easy to start washing it once every few months or so. Before long, you’ve gone a year without washing the car. This is an especially easy habit to get into if you have a light colored paint job. Don’t fool yourself, though. Even on a silver car, the dirt is accumulating, and it will do damage over time.

Wax Is Your Friend

If you’re tired of washing your Mercedes every week, however, you might think about waxing it. A good car wax will protect the paint from dirt and other impurities, reducing the amount of time you need to devote to regular washings. Not to mention the fact that the car will never look better than it will after a good waxing.
