What are the different options to clean your jeep soft tops

Have you been driving your Jeep for a long time now? Well, then it is likely that its Jeep soft tops have accumulated harsh elements such as dirt and debris.

Driving with a torn and worn soft top is not an option especially during the rain months. Therefore, you must clean your Jeep top properly and regularly without causing any damage to it. There are actually two options when it comes to cleaning. The first one involves a washrag with a bit of elbow grease. The other option involves a power and automatic sprayer that is usually set to a low spray level.

If you decide to clean your Jeep soft top on your own to avoid damage that a power sprayer might cause, you can talk to your local auto parts and accessories shop and look for a cleaner that is specifically made for cleaning soft tops. This type of cleaner will be less aggressive compared to a hard top cleaner to protect its color and condition.

However, if you decide to use a power sprayer, you may either utilize the self-cleaning option in the car wash station or the home power cleaner. It is always crucial to look for the medium spraying power since hard powered sprayer will cause damage, which will likely create ugly marks and tears on the top. Too soft power spray, on the other hand, will not effectively clean the soft top of your Jeep. It is always best to start with the soft cleaning process before going to the harder one.

Once you have decided on what method will you use, make sure that you always have warm water to keep the soft top of your Jeep from reacting to the solution and shrinking. If you do not have warm water with you, cold water will work fine but warm water is much preferred. Once you have cleaned the top, make sure that dry the top in an open area before installing it in your Jeep. You would not want to drive with a dripping soft top, right? So, dry it well to keep moisture away and enjoy a comfortable drive.
