A Ford Dealer is a franchise from the original car manufacturer that deal with new,Ford Dealer - Responsibilities of a Dealer Articles and sometimes used, vehicles. There are several objectives of this type of business but the main one is the sale of vehicles to consumers. Others services include financing, car trading, maintenance, repairs and aftermarket sales of parts and accessories. Most dealerships have the same objectives and responsibilities as the others. There may be slight differences but these are only slight.

Sales

This is the main aspect of a dealership. For a Ford dealer it means having to sell and finance new vehicles which are produced or made by manufacturers. New vehicle are the usual things that one can find in this business. The new ones are the new models which the manufacturer has released for sale all over the country. These come in different colors and models, all very recent additions to the showroom. The pre-owned ones come about when a customer would like to trade in an older model of the same brand name for a more recently manufactured one. Not all models are accepted for trading and not all dealerships accept trade in vehicles. The car that is supposed to be traded in is usually priced at market value by the assessor who belongs to the dealership itself. In many cases, the company gives a price which may be lower than the average market value if the same car model. Some dealerships also offer leasing to their customers. This is a form of contractual agreement in which the client and the Ford dealer company enter with certain conditions.

There are also sales for aftermarket products, accessories and spare parts which may be exclusive for the brand name. These include additions which the car owner might like to include in his vehicle right after it is purchased or a few months or years after. These are usually for upgrades or replacement parts. Although it is pretty common to have the brand name supply the accessories and spare parts of the different models that the dealership carries, some of the accessories and spare parts might have a different machine part brand. This is because many independent spare parts or accessories manufacturers usually make those that complement a specific brand or model.

Maintenance and Repair

A service garage is also another common part of a Ford Dealer company. These offer services which are focused on keeping the vehicle in good shape and preventing repairs which may be costlier than maintenance. Despite the primary goal of maintenance, many of the service garages also have repair jobs. These are usually the results of accidents or collisions. The eventual wear and tear of machine and engine arts will also prompt the replacement of these parts. Maintenance or repair will need to replace them. Some car owners who are not mindful of the maintenance and repairs that their vehicle needs might have to pay dearly for this. Letting wear and tear go unnoticed and unchecked can result to bigger and costlier repairs.
