Talk of Indian automotive market & the hatchback segment can never remain untouched. I would rather trace the hatchback segment as a ‘kingmaker’ because it has got has got the power to decide the market leader with a whopping market share of 53%. Maruti Suzuki has always got it right when it comes to understanding the great Indian middle class; thehatchbacks like Maruti 800 had some type of bond with a blue collared Indian & with the Indian auto market too. The credit to this heat flux that the Indian hatch market is facing at the moment,Ginger to the chicken curry: The all new Alto K10-cars for sale in india Articles with some of the biggest auto makers already adding to the heat, obviously goes to Maruti Suzuki. Now with the Alto as the India’s largest selling car,Maruti Suzuki has always looked to synchronise its speed with the fast speed of time & that is another reason why it still sits at that top position in the Indian market. It’s the festive season & it’s time for India’s most popular car to get synchronised with the constantly revving, time. The new Alto K10 is all set to inject the excitement with its new youthful looks, heavily upgraded interiors & all-new K-next engine that is now mated with an Automatic Manual Transmission & this unit sits in the heart of this peppy new Alto K10. Let’s find out how Maruti Suzuki has tried to up-shift the level of excitement.

I will describe the exteriors as the amalgamation of Celerio & the Alto 800, with the front looking like the former while the rear inspired from the latter. There is an all-new bumper with a wider air-dam along with a new rounded bonnet, new aggressive headlamps similar to those in Celerio &some additional chrome that lines symmetrical to the Suzuki logo, the VXI model gets body coloured side mirrors as well. As we move to the rear we find the windows shaped exactly like those in Alto 800, even the roofline has been inspired by the younger sibling & the tail lamps have also been refreshed to look alike as well. While there is a cosmetic transformation, the K10 still looks like an Alto, which is rather sportier, peppier & aggressive than its predecessor.

The new Alto K10 has now got interiors that will add a rich-feel to it. It doesn’t at all look like an Alto when you have a look at the interiors, Maruti has final done a great job in this area with the new K10. The dashboard has got a new theme, there’s an all-new dual tone finish, the black &matte silver finish on the audio system, AC vents, steering wheel, arm-rest, door handle & on lot of other items makes the insides look more premier. While the boot space in the new K10 is 177 litres, there’s something that Maruti Suzuki has done with the colour usage & dashboard shape that makes the new K10 look more spacious despite of the fact that a 6-footer would never like to be seated at the rear in the new K10. The new K10 gets new set of features like the keyless entry {VXI (o)}, internally adjustable OVRMs along with a driver side airbag& gear shift indicator. Such interiors & features would certainly leave you wanting to dig the vibe of new K10.

The K10’s new aluminium K-Next 998 cc 3-holer gasoline engine claims a peppy drive experience with the numbers finally stopping at 67 Hp & 90 Nm, it also claims an improved fuel efficiency of 24.07 Kmpl, a CNG variant is also going to be launched alongside with a mileage of 32.26 Km/Kg. The revving 155/65 R13 tyres can be brought to rest through the ventilated discs at the front while the drums at rear. Now the most interesting thing here is the introduction of Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) with the new K10 which will be offered at just 4.9 lakhs approx., which is way less than Celerio AMT. Further with an overall weight of just 755 Kg it is a car with one of the highest power to weight ratios, which improves the acceleration figures & makes the vehicle fuel resistant as well, the weight figure is simply amazing!

With Celerio, Maruti Suzuki experimented with the Indian market to know its level of interest in the automatic transmission & it seems like the Indian crowd has found the AMT more pragmatic to the needs of bottle-neck roads &entropic traffic. Maruti Suzuki will offer 6 variants of the new K10, along with an automatic variant& a CNG variant as well. Ask me &I would say that the new Alto K10 is going to be headache for the Maruti competitors. A car which has been famous for its engine always remains a good buy, but a car which has got good aesthetic value along with a nice engine is definitely a great buy. The facelifted Alto K10 is expected to be launched in November while the price is anticipated to be below INR 3.8 lakhs for the manual transmission unit while the final word on the price of ASG version (Auto Gear Shift) is yet to be spoken.
