Hero Honda Super Splendour: a commuter’s delightHero Honda has hit the right button with its Splendour range of bikes. It has become an extremely popular commuter bike because of its fuel efficiency and low maintenance. Efforts have been made to give Hero Honda Super Splendor a stylish and sporty look to attract stylish young people. The bike is available in seven sporty and stylish shades like Candy Blazing Red, Vibrant Blue, Cloud Silver, Black with Fiery Red, Black with Electric Purple, Graphite Black, and Heavy Grey. To give a stylish look the body colour has been painted on the petrol tank, rear panels and the front mud guard. Jazzy graphics add some style element to the bike .The 12V/35W headlamp bulbs are the new addition and the silencer has a new matte finish and it also comes with chrome-plated heat shield. Switches and the tubular double cradle chassis are the added style elements. The new bike has very well designed tail lights that add oodles of style to the bike. Other cosmetic and graphic changes are also interesting. The meter console is nicely designed to add a sense of class. A new tool box is placed aesthetically over the engine in small horizontal chrome dash. Alloy wheels and the colour matching rear view mirrors are also added for an extra edge. Hero Honda is trying to make it a true upgradation by improving the capacity of the bike. The engine capacity is also 125cc which makes it more powerful performance wise. The engine is air cooled and comes equipped with 4 strokes and single cylinder. A 12 liter fuel capacity is pretty good and mileage is awesome with 63-68 kmpl. As far as power and performance is concerned, it possesses everything to take on the competition like Honda Shine, Suzuki Sling Shot or TVS Flame. All the Hero Honda bikes are known for easy handling and super driving comfort. The Super Splendour is no exception and it provides steady and controlled driving experience with large wheelbase and better ground clearance. The wide and long seat of the bike offers great sitting comfort for the driver and the pillion rider. The newly added switch gear is a nice change. A new pass-light is added for a stylish look. The bike comes with drum brake and a self-start option makes it much more fun. The suspension of the bike is good enough to give smooth ride on the rough Indian roads. When we look at the weak points, Super Splendour’s battery is a little poor and gives some problems mostly in monsoon. Braking is a drawback as it skids in a little higher speed and you have to apply both the rear and front brakes together to avoid that. It also doesn’t boast of any eye catching styling to stand apart in its segment.
Super Splendour might not be as stylish and sporty as Suzuki Slingshot.
But, the resale value of the Hero Honda bikes is still the best and that
makes it a value for money investment. Hero Honda Super Splendour
is a more powerful and heavier bike in the Splendour series with some
stylish design upgrades. In order to make the bike more reliable in the
highly competitive market, the bike comes with a 3- year, 40,000 km
warranty that is not offered by any other bike in India. If you are
looking for reliable power and mileage at an affordable price
