While you may have access to graphs showing how these systems cut down on wasted fuel due to driver’s idling too long or taking personal time in the vehicle, you may want to avoid putting these up, because they will contribute to the “babysitter” view that some employees have. Be Honest The vast majority of your drivers do their jobs well, and they understand that one or two of the proverbial bad apples are going to make their jobs harder. If the individual who is dropping a load they are supposed to pick up is not doing his or her job correctly, then a driver may have to sit longer waiting for his or her work. Explain how personal trips, excess idling time, and other driver errors hurt everyone’s ability to do the job, and that the GPS fleet tracking system will help cut down on the number of these problems that you have. Those who are not doing their jobs well may make a fuss, but you want to weed out these drivers after all, don’t you?
