The Driver Training Course in Alberta and Calgary are high on safe driving. They  deliver affordable and professional driving lessons that meet all industry standards. The outcome of driving lessons makes a new driver proficient in appropriate driving skills; safety and professional attitude to driving.
Driver training is an exhaustive field and takes care of individual driver training; training for corporations and fleets; online e-learning programs and defensive driving techniques. A new learner joining a driving school gets a Driving manual to study and pass the driving test online.
Driver Licensing
Overall there are 7 types of driving licenses with the entry level license at Class 7 eligible at the age of 16. This makes a person eligible to ride mopeds and light vehicles. The online test for Alberta’s Class 7 learner’s permit is a knowledge test for obtaining driver’s license. The license follows the pass in the practice test.
Driving Schools of Calgary and Alberta offer driving classes for different learners for various licensing examinations. Alberta has 7 types of driving licenses and separate driving lessons are required in this.
GDL Program
The Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) mandates that new drivers,Linking Safety With Driver Training Programs Articles regardless of age must get the experience to learn complex driving.
Inexperience and distraction are posing high risk on the road. In response to this risk the Alberta introduced new laws to curb the number of traffic-related collisions, injuries and fatalities for a safer environment for all drivers.
New drivers such as teenagers face greater risk of accidents than experienced drivers. GDL Program was introduced in 2003 to help drivers gain driving experience under conditions that would bring lesser risk. This made licensing strict and the Class 5 License was made a two-step process with many restrictions on the Class 7 Learner’s License.
At least one year of waiting is essential to have a probationary Class 5 license after the road test. Requirements on zero blood alcohol limit is still applicable but the driver can drive 24 hours a day without any supervision.
Better Outcomes
The Alberta Traffic Collision Statistics noticed that reforms in driver licensing led to decline in drivers causing casualty collisions, particularly in the drivers age 16-19. The GDL also proved effective in reducing young driver crash fatalities in other provinces and states.
Besides the GDL the Alberta government brought the Alberta Traffic Safety Plan in 2008 and cut the number of collisions and fatalities on the Alberta roads and made it safer.
Thanks to GDL; Alberta Traffic Safety Plan took birth; and DDL followed. Collectively they have put in place a safety mechanism whereby more Albertans is returning home safely every day.
Alberta’s Transportation Department admits that the fatalities and injuries on the roads has declined since 2007 after the GDL program effectively curbed collision rates of new drivers.
