Sometimes you see those guys driving beautiful,Making The Most Of High Performance 4x4s Articles powerful, rugged performance 4x4s and never really making the most of them. They

park it in the drive way, wax it twice a week and then just drive it around town. If you ask them to help you move, they tell you

that they don't want to scratch the bed of their truck by actually putting something in it or dirty up their SUV by using it as

intended.

If you own a 4x4, even a luxury 4x4 vehicle, then you should know that it's nuts to have one of these vehicles and not try to get

the most of it. Having a high performance 4x4 that you only take around town and go grocery shopping with is like having a high def

television set with surround sound that you only watch Nick at Nite reruns on.

Here are a few ways to get your money's worth out of your performance 4x4...

Get a Bed Liner/Trailer

If you're driving an SUV, get a trailer for hauling. If you're getting a truck, you might want to look into getting a bed liner, or

just carry those scratches as proud battle scars. The bottom line is that you should always be moving stuff around with your 4x4 or

why buy a 4x4 in the first place? If you don't want to use a 4x4 for hauling, even one of the wide range of modern luxury 4x4

vehicles, you may as well just get a compact car.

Get it Dirty

Take it out in the woods, take it mudding, take it somewhere where you're going to actually need all that muscle it's packing under

the hood. A heavy duty 4x4 is at its best when climbing uphill on some muddy field after a week long hunting trip. Bottom line:

it's a man's vehicle, so drive it like a man.

Work Construction

Even if you've got a successful career going already, do some construction work, or at least help out a couple of your buddies with

their projects. If you really want to put your wheels to the test, build a cabin. You can find a cheap piece of land and build with

the trees already on the property, and going in on a project like that with a few buddies is a heck of a great way to get out of

the house, put your 4x4 to the test and have something to show for it when all's said and done.

Hunt, Fish and Camp Out

...As often as possible. Any time you get an opportunity, take that 4 x 4 outdoors and get it muddy, get your hands dirty and enjoy

all that the outdoors have to offer.

Of course, the reality here is that, if you own a 4x4 and you like to do more with it than make your driveway look really pretty,

then we don't really need to give you an excuse to throw stuff in the back of your truck or in your trailer and go cruising across

fields of mud and dirt. Get out there and enjoy your 4x4.
